Elizabeth Debicki remembers 'glorious' Princess Diana at Critics' Choice Awards



Elizabeth Debicki, who played the late Princess Diana in the past two seasons of The Crown , won the Best Supporting Actress trophy at the 2024 Critics’ Choice Awards.

During her award acceptance speech, the Australian actress paid a heartfelt tribute to the “incredible and glorious” late royal.

"Thank you, I really didn't expect this. This role is an incredible gift to me. It was a tremendous challenge and I will always be grateful for it," she said.

"My only hope was to play her on the show and make this extraordinary woman, this incredible, glorious woman proud."

The actress recently won the Best Supporting Actress – Television Golden Globe Award for her mesmerizing performance in the Netflix series based on the British royal family drama.

Earlier, Elizabeth revealed her innermost feelings about recreating the late royal's tragic death scene during an interview with Netflix.

The actress described the filming process as “heavy and very frenetic and incredibly aggressive”.

In addition, The Night Manager star expressed her admiration for the mother of Prince William and Harry, saying she is like an icon, like a magical person.
