America Ferrera recently explained how her husband Ryan Pierce Williams appeared on Barbie.
In a new interview with People, America revealed, "We haven't told anyone, any of our friends or family."
"And it all started with an initial call he had with Greta Gerwig, the director and co-writer of Barbie," he remarked.
In the blockbuster film, Ryan's character is "busy practicing Spanish on the Duolingo app while his family disappears into Barbie's fictional neighborhood."
Revealing details about her first Zoom meeting with Barbie director Greta Gerwig, America said: "It happened because it was my first Zoom with Greta. I was telling her all my favorite parts of the script and all the parts that they made me laugh out loud."
"And I said, 'Oh my God, I was laughing so hard when you cut to the dad doing his Spanish lesson because my husband was literally in the other room doing his Spanish lesson,'" the 39-year-old said.
America continued: "Immediately she was like, 'Oh my God, does she want to fuck your husband?' And I was like, ‘I don’t know, you should ask her.’ Fast forward to when they were closer to the taping, Greta hadn’t forgotten the idea.
"When the time came, he said, 'Remember when I asked you if your husband would play as your husband?' "And she said yes," the actress shared.
America added, "So, it's really fun and it does, it makes it a family business and it's great."
