Kelly Clarkson opens up about her new life as a single mother

Kelly Clarkson recently opened up about her new life as a single mother of two, who she shares with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

In a new interview with PEOPLE, Clarkson recalled when Clarkson joined her onstage at her Las Vegas residency in August.

"They were a bit nervous, but it was their idea, not mine," said the 41-year-old.

Speaking about her children, who sat in the audience and enjoyed her show, Kelly admitted, "I'm like, 'I think the way you see me, the way you see Spider-Man.' you are.'

"It caught me completely off guard, and it was the most magical moment because they were so happy and relaxed. They were just in awe," the American Idol alum said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Kelly, who won a series of outstanding speeches during the day and hosted the Daytime Emmy Awards, talked about how he started writing Chemistry.

"I don't see it as anything else: this is my shop." I'm a quitter; I don't like gadgets. So, what exactly happened in my life and why—and what am I going to do about it? The singer explained.

"I can't tell you how much I appreciate this kind of healthy shop," Kelly pointed out.

"Because the level of depression and things that come with divorce or grief are extraordinarily difficult. You feel alone, and it's just a blessing to have that outlet for those feelings," the musician noted.

"It was like, 'I'm taking my power back. It sounds very therapeutic, but it's because I love therapy, and I think it's important to have these tools in your life and relationships. to navigate," added the singer.
