Bijou Phillips will not 'cut ties' with ex Danny Masterson despite being convicted of rape

Despite being sentenced to 30 years and life in prison, Biju Phillips is keeping in touch with her estranged husband, Danny Masterson.

The reason Philips still wants Masterson close is because they have a young daughter, 9-year-old Fianna.

Although Masterson has given full custody of Diana to Philips, he still wants her in his daughter's life, Pierre Page Six.

A source told Insider that he was forced to leave the Church of Scientology because of his decision — which kicked the disgraced actor out after his conviction.

"Leaving Scientology is not an easy decision because you are still dealing with being separated from family and friends that are members," the source said.

This meant that if Phillips remained a member of the church, her daughter would, in turn, be separated from Masterson - who was also a member.

However, Philips "didn't want to cut ties with Danny because of Scientology's termination rules," the source said, adding that "Bijou would never do that to her daughter."

The '70s Show star was found guilty of two counts of rape at a retrial in May 2023.

Meanwhile, Phillips filed for divorce from Masterson after 12 years of marriage, despite being by his side during both trials.
